EM3038A is a state-of-the-art digital audio repeater which plays both MP3 and uncompressed WAV files. It
offers the benefits of both formats: smaller file size for MP3 files and better sound quality for uncompressed WAV files. Sound files are stored on a CompactFlash card for instant random access. CompactFlash cards, used in many
digital cameras, are readily available in many different capacities. It is possible to store more than an hour’s worth of CD quality audio on a single flash card.
EM3038A can be easily configured to work in different
modes of operation. The most powerful mode, the Script Mode, allows you to define a series of playback commands for each trigger. For example, you can play a file, wait a few seconds, play another file, then jump to another
script. Or you can put the system into an endless play loop which may be configured to be interruptible or non-interruptible.
Designed to be a stand alone device, EM3038A can be powered by a single voltage supply and
output to speakers directly. Playback can be triggered by a number of devices such as push buttons, relay closures, motion sensors and PLCs. Standard interfaces include parallel, RS-232 and RS-485. Keypad and other custom
interfaces are available by special request. The built-in 10-watt/channel power amplifier eliminates the need for an external amplifier in most cases. Should further amplification is ever needed, a line level output is also
supplied.
EM3038A is also available without the metal enclosure. The model number for the circuit board is DM3038A.
EM3038AR
EM3038AR provides the same functions as EM3038A but adds eight relay outputs for Basic Audio-n-ActionTM control. The relays can be programmed to turn on/off before and/or after, but not
during, a file playback.
EM3038AX
EM3038AX provides the same functions as EM3038A but adds eight relay outputs for Advanced Audio-n-ActionTM control. The relays can be programmed to turn on/off at any time. The Windows-based QWAplay program (available upon request) is required for embedding the event timing into WAV files (MP3 files are not supported by QWAplay). The following is a screen shot sample.
