SelfTalker EP series offers superior voice output to permanent POP displays and exhibits. Its
sound quality is among the best in the market. The attractive looking, tamper resistent case with built-in picture frame makes the EP box useful as a display by itself.
Contained in the heavy duty plastic case are the
circuit board, a motion sensor or a push button, a speaker and a battery holder for four D batteries. In addition to the batteries, AC power is also useful with an optional power adaptor. Two mounting holes on the sides are
provided for easy installation.
The EP series offers both player and recorder models. For players, the message is usually pre-programed into the unit at the factory. There is a small, one time setup charge for
creating a master chip. Turn around time is usually less than one week if the units are in stock. A low cost voice development system is available to customers who want to program the units themselves. The EP players have
removable memory cartridge for easy message update in the field. They are usually more cost effective than the EP recorders when mass produced.
For the EP recorders, the message can be recorded via the internal
microphone or line in jack. Once recorded, the message is kept in the memory with no need for battery backup. Re-recording the message automatically erases the old one. The recorders are ideal for applications requiring
frequent message change or the ability to record message easily by the end user.
Either an internal motion sensor or an internal push button is used to activate the message. In order to save battery life in high traffic
areas, the motion sensor has a 15-second minimum delay between activations. This delay time can be changed at the factory. There is no delay when the push button is used.
