SelfTalker IR series offers great sound quality for adding audio to permanent POP displays and exhibits. Its sound quality is among the best in the market, and the price is right for just about any applications.

Contained in the heavy duty plastic case are the circuit board, a motion sensor or a push button, a speaker and a battery holder for four D batteries (for extended battery life). A removable cover on the back provides access to the batteries. In addition to batteries, AC power is also useful with an optional power adaptor. Two mounting holes on the side are provided for easy installation. The case is not tamper proof, so the IR units should usually be protected from public access.

The IR series offers both player and recorder models.  For player models, the message is usually pre-programed into the unit at the factory. There is a small, one time setup charge for creating a master chip. Turn around time is usually less than one week if the units are in stock. A low cost voice development system is available to customers who want to program the units themselves. The player models have removable memory cartridge for easy message update in the field. They are usually more cost effective than the recorder models when mass produced.

For the recorder models, the message can be recorded via the internal microphone or line in jack. Once recorded, the message is kept in the memory with no need for battery backup. Re-recording the message automatically erases the old one. The recorder models are ideal for applications requiring frequent message change or the ability to record message easily by the end user.

Either an internal motion sensor or an internal push button is built in for activating the message. In order to save battery life in high traffic areas, the motion sensor has a 15-second minimum delay between activations. This delay time can be changed at the factory. There is no delay when the push button is used.
