They are usually integrated with a voice logger to form a fully automated radio receiver system for surveillance, monitoring and/or logging purposes. The unit is configured/controlled via RS-485 and multiple units can be cascaded. A built-in LCD display shows current system status such as power up self test results and channel tuning status (frequency, RSSI and audio quality). The analog audio outputs are usually fed to a separate voice logger for 24/7 recording. The receiver incorporate highly advanced modular components with precise digital tuning and minimized EMI interference.
